We are looking for the face of our meeting center in Utrecht, the keeper of inventory, the coffee machine whisperer, with attention to detail, the caring type who is everywhere and nowhere until we go to lunch.

About SURF and the Facility team

SURF is the collaboration organization for IT for Dutch education and research. SURF works with educational and research institutions on IT facilities and IT innovation to make the best use of the opportunities offered by digitization.

With our team, we make sure that our colleagues can do their jobs well and that visitors get a warm welcome. As a team, we are responsible for all the facilities in our office buildings. From reception to cleaning, from coffee to security and from office chair to e-mail. We do this in a team of 14 people spread over two office buildings.

What does this job entail?

You are responsible for the meeting center and anchor points (fancyword for coffee corners) at the workplace. You'll be on the move all day, getting active all over the building. You make sure the meeting rooms are in the starting blocks for the next group, and then can be found on the shop floor making sure the coffee machines are shiny and filled to the brim. In the meantime, you empty and refill the dishwashers. Just before the next group arrives, you clean up lunch and straighten the room. Before they finish their first cup of coffee, you're walking the floor again. You are the go-to-person for questions, because colleagues often see you at the coffee machine. You see and hear everything!

What are you going to do exactly?

• You are the first point of contact in the meeting center for both colleagues and visitors;
• You take care of cleanliness in the meeting center and the resulting activities;
• You will assist in changing the setup of a meeting room when necessary;
• You are responsible for coffee points on the shop floor. You clean the coffee machines. Replenishes everything and cleans the dishwasher in and out;
• You are responsible for inventory management of the meeting center, anchor points and drinks;
• You set up lunch and drinks and clean up afterwards;
• You walk around the workplace with a keen eye. You spot any defects, contribute to cleanliness and have an eye for overall hygiene in the premises.

• A salary range of 2318 - 3196 EUR gross based on full-time;
• 8.33% vacation allowance, a fixed year-end bonus of 8.33%;
• 36 vacation days per year (based on a 40-hour work week);

• The opportunity for hybrid work and you will receive a home office allowance on work-at-home days;
• Two great locations, in Amsterdam and Utrecht, both with good public transport facilities. Your main location will be: Utrecht. Our Utrecht office is located within walking distance of Utrecht CS.
• A contract for one year initially, with the intention of converting to permanent employment after one year.
